Ever since passing the Bar, the practice of Me Charles-Éric Gilbert has exclusively focused on employment law and work relations. In particular, he advises employers on the imposition of disciplinary or administrative measures, labor standards, terminations of employment, the development of contracts and employment policies, health and safety at work, and on the interpretation and application of collective agreements. He also acts as an employer negotiator for collective negotiations and represents employers before the Administrative Labor Tribunal, arbitration courts, and ordinary courts.

In addition, he is accredited by the Quebec Bar to conduct workplace investigations. He has conducted several investigations in matters of psychological harassment and in disciplinary and administrative matters.

Me Gilbert is very involved in his community. He is currently a director of the Young Bar Association of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, a director of the Young Regional Bar Association as well as a member of the board of directors of the Cégep de Chicoutimi.
