Through her specialized practice in litigation and employment law, Silvia Ortan assists a wide range of clients in the management of labour relations and in all types of litigious files.

She notably advises small, mid-sized and large corporations regarding labour standards, pay equity, French language requirements in the workplace, hiring, disciplinary measures and terminations, as well as occupational health and safety and psychological harassment. She also contributes to the negotiation of collective agreements and acts in grievance arbitrations and dispute arbitrations.

Silvia frequently pleads before the Court of Quebec, the Superior Court, and the Municipal Court of Montreal, and also represents clients of the firm before the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST). She has notably been involved in multiple injunction files, including injunctions aiming to enforce confidentiality, non-competition and non-solicitation clauses. She has also acted in oppression remedy cases and commercial disputes, and regularly acts in complaints for dismissal without cause, pecuniary complaints and psychological harassment complaints before the CNESST.

In addition, Silvia represents a diversified clientele in several statutory penal law cases.
