Alec Poiré-Michaud

Alec Poiré-Michaud is originally from Amos, in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. In 2021, he joined Cain Lamarre’s Sherbrooke team, where he practises civil litigation and commercial law, specializing in civil liability, insurance law, construction and real estate.

Before joining Cain Lamarre, Mr. Poiré-Michaud began his career at an international Montreal-based firm, where he worked on a variety of cases and developed a creative, innovative approach that helps him build winning strategies. Mr. Poiré-Michaud is focused on finding effective, practical and sustainable solutions, and he takes the time to get to know his clients so he can offer them customized ideas, solutions or projects. 

Mr. Poiré-Michaud holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Sherbrooke. He also worked as a research assistant at the Université de Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Law, taking part in the republication of a well-known doctrinal work on the law of obligations in Quebec. He is the recipient of the Prix du Barreau du Québec, awarded to the top student in the graduating class, and the Lavery scholarship for academic excellence in the “Droit du travail” labour law course. In addition, he was named to the Dean’s List of the Université de Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Law for each year of his studies.
