Chantal Durand has been a lawyer since 1993 and currently practises business law at Cain Lamarre’s Saguenay office, with a particular focus on Transactional Law and Financing.

Over the course of her career, she has developed expertise in mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, business transfers and bank financing. Her ability to handle a variety of complex cases makes her a trusted legal expert.

Among her more notable cases, Ms. Durand was involved in Cogeco’s acquisition of DERYtelecom and led reorganization projects for family businesses. She has also played a key role in major bank financing and venture capital cases, as well as marine and aircraft financing. She is known for her conscientiousness, attention to detail and ability to work well in a team.

Ms. Durand holds Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Actuarial Science from Université Laval, and has also studied Business Administration and Mathematics. In her spare time, she enjoys a variety of sports, including golf, cross-country skiing and walking, and cultural activities such as films, performances, fine dining, travel and visual arts. Ms. Durand is deeply involved in her community, notably by chairing the investment committee of the Saguenay Local Investment Fund (FLI) and the Ville de Saguenay Local Solidarity Fund.
