
Jean-Pierre Lévesque

Jean-Pierre Lévesque practises business law. He assists clients ranging from small- and medium-sized businesses to large corporations with corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and share and asset purchase and sale transactions in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. He is also sought after for his expertise in setting up financing and venture capital structures, and dealing with conflicts between partners or shareholders.
Since joining Cain Lamarre in 2015, Mr. Lévesque has taken the lead on several notable cases. In particular, he has overseen the conclusion of major commercial transactions in the agri-food sector, where he assists and advises clients on regulatory compliance issues. Mr. Lévesque has also structured major business partnerships in the real estate and energy sectors, notably through limited partnerships. In addition, he has intervened in several complex shareholder disputes, providing appropriate legal solutions to resolve differences.
Mr. Lévesque obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Université Laval in 2005, and is certified as a mediator by the Ministère de la Justice du Québec in civil and commercial matters. With a long history of giving back to his community, he is chair of the board of directors of the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie Saguenay-Le Fjord and chair of the market surveillance committee of the Quebec Council for Reserved Designations and Added-Value Claims.
