Josée Byrns

A member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec since April 2016, Ms. Byrns specializes in Business Law, including security interests, entrepreneurship and business succession planning. Her practice focuses on Corporate Law, financing and commercial transactions. After working as a paralegal in the private, municipal and government sectors for many years, Ms. Byrns joined the Cain Lamarre team in 2011 while pursuing her Law degree.

Ms. Byrns has extensive experience in commercial financing. Although her clientele is made up of a wide range of SMEs, manufacturers and real estate entrepreneurs, she has developed particular expertise in the car dealership and recreational vehicle sectors, as well as the forestry and maple syrup industries. Competent, solution-oriented and approachable, she excels at managing teams and explaining the Law in layman’s terms, making sure her clients understand the situation and she is able to support them every step of the way.

Ms. Byrns has a Master of Notarial Law degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Sherbrooke, as well as a Certificate in Administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She also completed a summer program in Private International Law at the Universität Salzburg in Austria. She is active in various associations and committees, notably as a board member for the Fondation Maison La Cinquième Saison and as a member of the International Union of Notaries. In addition to Law, Ms. Byrns is interested in sports photography, travel and history.
