Léonie Boutin specialises in Aboriginal and constitutional law, working primarily with Indigenous communities. She was called to the Quebec Bar in 2012 and excels in the areas of governance, treaty negotiations and constitutional agreements, as well as land and specific claims settlements. She has represented the interests of First Nations communities at the Supreme Court of Canada on three separate occasions. She is based at our Roberval office and travels all over Quebec to meet with her clients.

Ms. Boutin’s career has been marked by a number of noteworthy achievements, including her contribution to a new section of the “Collection de droit” by the Quebec Bar School focused on Aboriginal Law, and her participation in various conferences on issues specific to her field. Her thoughtful approach and ability to work as a team player have contributed to the success of many complex projects. Her devotion to defending the rights of First Nations and her capacity for innovation reflect her expertise and commitment to the profession.

Ms. Boutin has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Sherbrooke and is very involved in her community. She was the first woman and youngest lieutenant-governor in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region for the Kiwanis Club, where she also served as president. In addition to her involvement with the Kiwanis Club, she has been a board member of the Roberval Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Studio Nord dance school.
