Marc-Alexandre Poirier

Marc-Alexandre Poirier is a corporate and commercial lawyer. He regularly advises international clients on acquiring Quebec companies and/or establishing a presence in Quebec. He frequently acts for private equity funds, particularly in the real estate sector, assisting them with their investment structure, financing and strategic acquisitions. His practice also includes the representation of private partners in negotiations with municipalities for the implementation of renewable energy projects.

Mr. Poirier joined Cain Lamarre in 2021. Over the course of his career, he has worked for several well-known law firms in Montreal and Hong Kong, as well as acting as Head of Legal Affairs for a tech company based in Vancouver. 

Mr. Poirier holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Université Laval. He has received many awards in the fields of Entertainment Law, Debtor and Creditor Law, and bankruptcy and insolvency. He is also recognized for his academic contributions, having published numerous articles and given many lectures on Business Law and information technology.
