Martin Brunet is involved in Municipal, Environmental and Public Administration Law, as well as Labour and Employment Law. He mainly represents public and private sector employers, as well as municipalities, regional county municipalities and educational institutions, before judicial and administrative tribunals. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 1991 and joined the Cain Lamarre’s Sherbrooke office in 2019.

Before joining Cain Lamarre, Mr. Brunet worked at several firms in the Eastern Townships and Montérégie, and had his own practice. He is known for his expertise in Labour and Employment Law, as well as Municipal Law.  He has given numerous lectures and training sessions on a variety of subjects, from reasonable accommodations to social media and the management of labour relations. He also acts as a trainer in the municipal sphere. 

Mr. Brunet has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Sherbrooke. Outside his legal practice, he is actively involved in his community. He was a director of La Rose des Vents de l’Estrie and vice-chair of the board of directors of the Maison Jeunes-Est de Sherbrooke, and has held various roles within the Sherbrooke Chamber of Commerce. He was also president of the Club Richelieu Sherbrooke and honourary president of the Grande Table fundraising campaign. Mr. Brunet is appreciated for his dedication to local causes and his commitment to improving the quality of life in his community.
