Pascal Porlier’s practise is focused primarily on Aboriginal law and the energy and natural resources sectors. His expertise has led him to advise major clients such as Indigenous communities, companies, SMEs, financial institutions and various Indigenous development corporations.

Mr. Porlier stands out for his skills in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, as well as supporting his clients in the implementation and interpretation thereof. In recent years, he has worked on several important projects dealing with wind power, mini-power plants, mining development and large-scale real estate acquisitions. 

Over the course of his career, Mr. Porlier has acquired extensive experience working in different Cain Lamarre offices, notably in Val-d’Or, Saguenay and Sept-Îles. He has represented his clients in all the Quebec courts, in the fields of Aboriginal law, constitutional law and business law. He has also given talks at conferences and taught several courses on the establishment of partnerships with Indigenous entities, economic development and sustainable development. His academic and professional contributions are a testament to his professional expertise and devotion to his clients, which have made him a leader in his field. 

Mr. Porlier has a Law degree from Université Laval and is also actively involved in his community. He is a master’s-level instructor and one of the few trainers recognized by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. For his outstanding contributions, he received a Global Excellence Award for Outstanding Aboriginal Lawyer in Quebec in 2020 and a Legal Award in Commercial Law in Canada in 2019. His involvement in the community and the profession reflects his desire to give back to society and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
