Robert Pidgeon was a Judge of the Court of Appeal and Associate Chief Justice of the Superior Court of Québec before joining Cain Lamarre in Quebec City as a partner. Over the course of his career, he has specialized in litigation, particularly construction law, disciplinary law, commercial law, commercial litigation, and all types of recourses, as well as civil and professional liability.

He also has expertise in personal and family law, including the areas of ethics, residential care and custody, child custody and access rights, division of property rights, separation and divorce, and estates. In municipal law, he has worked in the fields of land use planning and urban development, expropriation, municipal council operations, elections and criminal offences related to municipal law.

With a career spanning over 50 years, Mr. Pidgeon has an impressive track record and invaluable experience. He is recognized for his knowledge of ethics and deontology, and brings a solid professional background and a unique ability to connect with others. 

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Université de Moncton and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Université Laval, Mr. Pidgeon became a member of the Quebec Bar in 1970. He has been awarded the Médaille du Barreau de Québec et du Québec, the title of Emeritus Lawyer and the Prix Grands diplômés from Université Laval. Actively involved in his community, Mr. Pidgeon has also served as a director of the Union des Municipalités du Québec, mayor of Gaspé, warden, president of the Sommet économique, chair of the Caisse Populaire de Gaspé, and director of the Fédération des Caisses Populaires de la Gaspésie et des Îles-de-la-Madeleine. He has also served as president of the Conférence des Juges des Cours supérieures du Québec, member of the Executive Committee of the Canadian Judicial Council, vice-president and chair of its Judicial Conduct Committee, and member of the board of directors of Groupe Travail Adapté Québec (TAQ). Mental health, ethics and the environment are the causes closest to his heart.
