Stéphane Lamarre

Stéphane Lamarre has been practising law since 1990. He specializes in transport law, advises numerous road hauliers and provides training for various industry associations. Me Lamarre pleads cases before various public agencies as well as both civil and criminal courts. Over the course of his career, Mr. Lamarre has advised clients on complex interprovincial and international transportation issues, as well as criminal offences and civil and contractual liability. 

Among his more notable cases, he has successfully represented multiple transport companies in road accident litigation involving heavy vehicles, negotiated complex international transport contracts, and assisted clients in obtaining transport permits and licenses in several jurisdictions. As a lecturer and author, he has published several articles and reference works. He has also given lectures and taught courses on transportation regulations at the Université du Québec à Montréal, Cégep André-Laurendeau, Cégep de Drummondville and Cégep Lionel-Groulx. Mr. Lamarre is passionate about skills development, takes part in various transportation industry activities and contributes to the continuing education of industry professionals. In this capacity, he has for many years been a director of the Fondation pour la formation en transport routier, the Quebec Foundation for Road Transport Training.

Mr. Lamarre has a Bachelor of Laws from Université Laval and is particularly involved with Leucan, an organization that supports children with cancer and their families. Mr. Lamarre has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada, notably as Lawyer of the Year in 2023 and 2024, for his expertise in transportation law since 2013, and by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory since 2014.
