Vanessa Thibeault

A native of the Eastern Townships, Vanessa Thibeault has a law degree from the Université de Sherbrooke. She joined the Cain Lamarre team in 2020 after practising for several years in the Outaouais region, where she acquired considerable experience in the common law courts. Right from the outset, she has focused her practice on Construction Law.

Ms. Thibeault has been involved in representative mandates, such as managing complex litigation for developers and representing contractors in claims cases. She has also handled cases involving disputes related to the performance of construction contracts and the protection of receivables. In addition, she works on regulatory compliance issues, particularly relating to contractor obligations under the Building Act. Her rigorous, methodical approach enable her to find practical, effective solutions for her clients.

Outside of her legal practice, she has taught numerous workshops offered by construction associations for future contractors, and is actively involved in sharing her knowledge of the field with the next generation of lawyers, thus demonstrating her dedication to the profession. Ms. Thibeault has a keen interest in local economic development, having served on the board of directors of the Gatineau Chamber of Commerce in 2019.
