Marie-Hélène Brousseau Bellemare
Lawyer

Marie-Hélène Brousseau Bellemare joined Cain Lamarre in 2025 after completing her articling with the firm. She works with the l’Équipe du Nord and focuses her practice on youth protection law in the Nunavik region, where her role requires her to travel several weeks each year.
Driven by a longstanding desire to work in the justice system and support people directly, Ms. Brousseau Bellemare initially practiced as a criminologist, serving a wide range of vulnerable clients. In recent years, her practice has involved working closely with First Nations and Inuit communities. While studying law, she continued to work as a criminologist in youth protection, spending nearly three years in Nunavik a meaningful experience she valued. As a result, Ms. Brousseau Bellemare has developed a deep understanding of the region’s realities and challenges. She places great importance on building strong relationships with her clients and regularly appears before the Youth Division of the Court of Québec and the Superior Court.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Université Laval and a Law Degree from the University of Ottawa. She also serves on the board of directors of the Ordre professionnel des criminologues du Québec.
