Since joining Cain Lamarre in 2016, Amélie Dion has focused her practice primarily on Aboriginal and business law. She frequently works on the drafting of partnership agreements, including partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses, and the drafting and revision of agreements and contracts.

Given her area of practice, she has developed particular knowledge of the mining sector, both with regards to drafting and negotiating impact-benefit agreements, and structuring partnership agreements that comply with the relevant laws, conventions and policies.

Licensed to practise law in both Quebec and Ontario, she has developed expertise in the drafting and analysis of agreements in both French and English.

Having begun her career in the fields of criminal law, family law and youth protection, Mrs. Dion has developed excellent public speaking skills and a strong sense of repartee, which help her present and plead her cases with aplomb. With a strong focus on positive client relationships and the human aspects of legal practice, she is prepared to travel wherever she must in order to meet with her clients, whether they be in major population centres or remote communities.
