Claudia Fortin

After completing her articling at Cain Lamarre, Claudia Fortin joined the firm following her call to the Bar in September 2025. Her practice focuses on Indigenous and constitutional law. She works on matters involving Aboriginal rights, First Nations governance, and the negotiation of various agreements, adopting an approach centered on the recognition and respect of Indigenous political structures.
With a distinctive background at the crossroads of law and journalism, Ms. Fortin brings a rigorous and compassionate perspective to her practice. A graduate of the Université de Sherbrooke, she holds a bachelor’s degree in law, a graduate diploma in common law and transnational law, and a master’s degree in the same field. She has also completed a short graduate program in Indigenous studies at Université Laval.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Fortin gained international experience as an intern at the Legal Affairs Directorate of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.
