Claudia Tremblay

Claudia Tremblay practices civil litigation at the Montreal office of Cain Lamarre, focusing primarily on civil liability and insurance.

She has a particular interest in the agricultural sector, where she grew up. A member of the Barreau du Québec since 2006, she has represented clients before various tribunals and advised a diverse client base consisting of property and casualty insurers, businesses, and public agencies. She is occasionally called upon to provide legal opinions to private companies, cooperatives, and public agencies, particularly to prevent or resolve disputes. Ms. Tremblay is recognized for her analytical and synthesis skills, having handled cases requiring extensive document management.

Among other things, Ms. Tremblay represented the City of Sherbrooke Employees’ Pension Plan Committee in a damages claim against the consulting firm Mercer. She has also provided numerous legal opinions regarding insurance coverage and the duty to defend. Ms. Tremblay has handled several property and casualty insurance cases, notably involving the interpretation or ab initio invalidity of insurance policies. In addition, she has handled numerous civil liability cases involving both bodily injury and property damage across a variety of subject areas.

Ms. Tremblay holds a law degree from Université de Sherbrooke. Outside of her legal practice, she has been a lecturer at the Sherbrooke Center of the École du Barreau for several years, where she teaches courses on civil and professional liability, as well as liens and mortgages. Outside the firm, Ms. Tremblay enjoys various sports and cultural activities. She is passionate about agriculture and outdoor hiking, and she actively participates in community activities aimed at supporting farmers and rural families. She has also served on the board of directors of the Fondation du Séminaire de Sherbrooke and the Association des professionnels en assurance de l’Estrie, as well as the Association du Jeune Barreau de Saint-François.
