Joanie Poirier

Joanie Poirier is originally from the Gaspé Peninsula and has a Law degree from Université Laval. After being called to the Quebec Bar in 2012, she joined Cain Lamarre at the Montreal office in 2014, then moved to the Rimouski location in 2022. She is known for her expertise in litigation and Professional Law, as well as Criminal and Administrative Law. She takes a strategic, detail-oriented approach to resolving complex cases for both companies in her region and professional orders in Quebec. She prioritizes transparency, communication and sound negotiation to defend her clients’ interests.

Ms. Poirier deftly navigates the legal, strategic and sometimes political aspects of her cases. As part of her Professional Law practice, she raises public and media awareness of the importance of the protection of the public, without prejudice to any particular profession. Ms. Poirier is also a member of the Complaints Review Committee of the Quebec Bar. Her role is to examine complaints filed with the Office du Syndic, ensuring that the integrity and quality of legal services in Quebec are maintained.

Alongside her legal career, she is also an active member of her community. She is the chairperson of the board of directors for Petites-Mains, an integration program for immigrant women. A strong supporter of youth development, she leads high school workshops for Éducaloi and is assistant coach of her high school volleyball team.
