Joséphine Matteau

Joséphine Matteau has several years of experience in litigation within the public sector and in private practice and pleads in all types of commercial and contractual disputes. She defends her clients by applying high standards, offering tailored advice and sustainable solutions. Rigorous and innovative, she has the ability to transform a major conflict into an amicable agreement.
Ms. Matteau holds a bachelor’s degree in civil law from the University of Ottawa and a graduate certificate from Panthéon-Assas University, where she namely studied international dispute resolution. During her university studies, she was involved in student life and participated in the world’s largest moot court competition, the Phillip C. Jessup.
Originally from the Mauricie region, she grew up in a business environment, with her family having been establisehd there for several generations. Committed and dynamic, she chaired the Association des étudiants de l’École du Barreau de l’Outaouais and sits on the board of directors of Maisons de la paix, a transitional housing organization that supports women, young mothers and adolescent girls in vulnerable situations. She also actively supports young entrepreneurs.
Her motto? “You make your own luck.”
She practices alpine skiing, enjoys travelling and loves cats.
