Marcel Naud is a lawyer and trademark agent with solid expertise in technology-based contracts, information protection and intellectual property. With over twenty years’ experience in a specialized law firm, he assists clients with the entire life cycle of their contracts in which digital transformation, copyright or other intangible assets play a major role. Where protected information is concerned, Mr. Naud advises and assists companies, professional orders and organizations (including those in the health and social services sector) with making sure their compliance and governance is a strength that inspires confidence. On the trademark front, he identifies, recommends and implements strategies in Canada and internationally to maximize competitive advantages and prevent or resolve conflicts in the context of export market diversification and the fight against parasitic acts and fraud.

Mr. Naud is a keen supporter of the modernization of legal practices through legal ops, legal design and legal tech, including controlled progress in artificial intelligence. After earning a double Bachelor’s degree from McGill University [EI2] and an Advanced Graduate Diploma in Arts and Culture Management from HEC Montréal, he enriched his career by working closely with professionals in various fields including AdTech, fintech, event management, transportation infrastructure development, agricultural product distribution, energy and manufacturing production, and estate planning, as well as municipal, banking, accounting and investment services. One of his more notable cases involved helping a leading daily newspaper successfully make the transition from print to tablet screens.

Over the years, his achievements have earned him several distinctions, including mentions in the Intellectual Property section of Best Lawyers, the Technology Law section of Lexpert and the WTR 1000 by World Trademark Review. He is also a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). An in-demand speaker and author of numerous articles, he shares his knowledge through various training courses and events focused on intellectual property, cybersecurity and legal innovation. Outside the workplace, he enjoys volunteering, board games, outdoor activities and the performing arts. His public engagement attests to the importance he places on community vitality, social capital and civic-mindedness. He also supports the missions of various schools and extracurricular organizations, making him a conscientious and humane ally for companies seeking cutting-edge legal expertise.
