Pierre Lévesque

With over 42 years’ experience in corporate and commercial law, Pierre Lévesque has developed a high level of expertise in Banking and Financing Law, as well as bankruptcy and insolvency. He acts on behalf of numerous Quebec and Canadian companies, and regularly advises his clients on private and public financing, guarantees, investments and debt issues, as well as business acquisitions and sales. His knowledge also makes him qualified to guide and assist these companies in setting up complex structures.

Mr. Lévesque has acquired a wealth of experience over the years, most notably with Cain Lamarre in Rimouski since 1999. He previously worked for another well-known law firm and for Revenu Québec. He is recognized for his expertise in Business Law, including Banking, Commercial, Corporate, Construction, Tax and Real Estate Law, as well as his in-depth knowledge of bankruptcy and insolvency. In addition to his professional activities, he has offered training courses through the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés and lectured on Corporate Law at the Université du Québec à Rimouski and for a number of clients, notably financial institutions.

Mr. Lévesque holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Université de Sherbrooke, and has served on several boards of directors, including that of the Quebec Bar, where he chaired the Ethics and Governance Committee. He has been a member of the board of directors for the Fondation du Barreau du Québec since 2019, and chair of the board since 2021. He has served as president of the Bas-Saint-Laurent-Gaspésie-Îles-de-la-Madeleine section and received the distinction of Advocatus Emeritus (Ad. E.). He was also president of the Association des avocats et avocates de province from 2009-2010. He gives back to the community by holding leadership roles in various clubs and associations, thus demonstrating his commitment to the legal profession and society as a whole.
