Roxane Bacon is known for her expertise in Indigenous and constitutional law, natural resources law and health and social services law (youth law). Based at Cain Lamarre’s Val-d’Or office, she serves First Nations throughout Quebec, acting primarily for First Nations Councils and other government bodies, notably in matters of governance, the drafting of legislation and policies, claims, and the negotiation of self-government agreements.  Her bilingualism and understanding of Indigenous  issues enable her to offer a unique legal service that combines legal expertise with cultural sensitivity.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Bacon has worked on a number of major cases involving Indigenous self-determination, whether through her legal contributions to the implementation of a child and family services system, or through the negotiation of self-government agreements for various communities.  Her work on a wide range of complex cases involving First Nations communities and the extractive industry also demonstrates her versatility and ability to adapt to a variety of legal issues.

Ms. Bacon earned a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal, then completed her academic studies with a practical internship at Cain Lamarre. She was inspired to pursue a career in law by her desire to make a tangible difference in her community, particularly for the First Nations in her region. In addition to her work as a lawyer, Ms. Bacon is passionate about art, hiking and yoga.
