Sarah-Isabelle Avril

Admitted to the Barreau in 2020, Ms. Sarah-Isabelle Avril has focused her practice on labour and employment Law, particularly in the area of occupational health and safety—a field that quickly drew her in due to its pragmatic nature and medical aspects.
She builds close relationships with her clients while addressing issues in a thoughtful and nuanced manner. She pays particular attention to the practical and financial implications when making recommendations. Ms. Avril has thus developed a practice in the area of personal information protection by assisting clients in complying with the new requirements of Bill 25. This experience has enabled her to develop a high degree of rigor in analyzing the facts and a comfort level in litigation contexts.
As an animal lover, she chose to focus her master’s thesis on the regulation of animal welfare under Quebec law, particularly in the context of livestock farming, and to complete her Barreau internship in this field, in addition to getting involved with the Communauté Droit animalier Québec (DAQ). Ms. Avril has also given numerous radio and television interviews for various media outlets on issues related to animal rights.
Outside of her work, she makes it a priority to spend time with her dog. She also enjoys creative and mind-challenging activities, such as escape games and puzzles.
