Yannick Richard has been acting as a strategic adviser, negotiator and litigator for his commercial clients for over 20 years. Mr. Richard works in commercial, residential and institutional construction.
He joined Cain Lamarre in 2008 and serves customers across the province, notably in the Quebec City, Chaudière-Appalaches and Eastern Townships regions, most particularly in the town of Lac-Mégantic.
Mr. Richard has handled a number of major cases, including shareholder disputes, dismissal of senior executives, contract interpretation and liability, realization of security interests and insolvency. He has given numerous talks to construction associations on industry best practices. He knows how to enlist the help of his colleagues to meet his customers’ needs, working with a team made up of members from numerous areas of the firm including business, financing, insurance, insolvency, labour relations and occupational health and safety.
Mr. Richard holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Université de Sherbrooke and a degree in second-language studies from Bishop’s University. In 2009, he also obtained a certification from the Université de Sherbrooke’s advanced advocacy program, awarded by the Quebec Bar’s Continuing Education Department. He is an active member of numerous local associations and committees, and is involved in causes close to his heart, especially those working to help vulnerable children.
