Cain Lamarre is looking for a Business Analyst for one of its offices. We are currently experiencing a period of growth and innovation, and we are looking to strengthen our business development team in order to continue creating value for our clients and our professionals.

 

PROFILE

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Business Development, the analyst directly contributes to the firm’s growth by transforming internal and external data into strategic analyses and actionable recommendations. He or she reviews client performance (revenues, profitability, potential), identifies areas for improvement, and uncovers development opportunities, particularly in cross‑selling and client reactivation.

The analyst also plays a key role in analyzing the legal market, sector trends, and competitor activity, helping to inform the firm’s strategic direction and priorities. He or she further supports the team’s initiatives by providing relevant data for service proposals and for showcasing the firm’s experience.

The analyst is additionally responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and strategic use of the CRM, enabling effective client targeting, pipeline tracking, and support for the firm’s business development campaigns.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze internal data—such as revenue, profitability, volume, utilization rates, and matter sources—to identify trends and priorities
  • Assess client behaviours, engagement frequency, high‑potential sectors, and under‑utilized segments
  • Identify areas for improvement, including portfolio optimization, enhanced segmentation, and proactive follow‑up with inactive clients
  • Detect growth opportunities such as cross‑selling, client reactivation, and emerging markets
  • Conduct continuous monitoring of the legal market, economic sectors, competitors, and innovations within professional services
  • Produce concise analytical summaries to guide practice groups and leadership—covering rising demand areas, risks, new sectors, and competitive benchmarks
  • Identify early signals and emerging trends that may influence market demand or the firm’s strategic direction
  • Convert internal and external analyses into actionable recommendations, presented through dashboards or reports
  • Propose initiatives aimed at improving profitability, client retention, market development, and the effectiveness of business development efforts
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and regular updating of CRM data, including segmentation, target lists, and interaction histories
  • Monitor the opportunity pipeline and produce reports on progress, conversion rates, and forecasts
  • Work closely with professionals to understand their sectors, priorities, and strategic development targets
  • Evaluate the return on investment (ROI) of business development initiatives and recommend optimizations

 

SKILLS AND QUALITIES SOUGHT

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or any other relevant field
  • Proficiency with MS 365 tools
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent data‑visualization abilities
  • Excellent command of the French language, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of the legal services or professional services industry is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with strategic intelligence tools and artificial intelligence technologies
  • Strategic mindset, strong synthesis skills, and a clear sense of priorities
  • Analytical thinking, rigor, and excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, adapted to various audiences such as lawyers, leadership, and administrative staff
  • Collaboration skills, diplomacy, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
  • Ability to work autonomously on projects while effectively collaborating with multiple internal teams, including Business Development, Communications, Finance, and IT
