Our Québec City office is experiencing sustained growth, and we are seeking a Labour and Employment Lawyer to join our team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with a group of approximately twenty professionals specializing in this field at our Québec City office, as well as with additional members of this practice group across the province. These professionals are recognized for their expertise, teamwork, and the significant mandates entrusted to them by our clients.

 

PROFILE

The successful candidate stands out through exceptional rigour, strong organizational skills, and a clear sense of priorities, enabling them to manage multiple files simultaneously. Versatile and highly committed to client service, they enjoy working collaboratively and contributing meaningfully to the success of the office.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide legal advice and opinions in labour law as well as occupational health and safety
  • Interpret labour and employment legislation, occupational health and safety laws and regulations, and collective agreements
  • Represent clients before various administrative and judicial bodies in matters related to labour relations and occupational health and safety

 

SKILLS AND QUALITIES SOUGHT

  • Member of the Barreau du Québec
  • Have between 5 and 12 years of experience in labour law
  • Possess specialized expertise in occupational health and safety law, particularly in handling employment injury claim files under the Act respecting industrial accidents and occupational diseases (AIAOD)
  • Demonstrate autonomy, professionalism, and rigour
  • Have strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Show strong abilities in legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy
  • Be a team player
  • Functional written and spoken English (an asset)
