Cain Lamarre is looking for a tax lawyer or notary for its Montreal office to join a rapidly growing sector.
PROFILE
The successful candidate will stand out for their attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize, enabling them to collaborate with different teams and professionals and handle multiple files simultaneously. Versatile and highly customer-focused, they will be a team player and eager to contribute significantly to the firm’s success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Participate in meetings with clients, identify their needs and develop recommendations related to corporate and transactional structures.
- Conduct tax research and prepare memoranda.
- Draft tax memoranda and oversee the implementation of proposed planning and reorganization.
- Supervise and advise clients on tax issues related to various types of transactions (assets, shares, hybrids, purification, asset protection, and others).
- Work closely with other members of the tax team and other professionals within the firm to provide technical tax assistance to help them serve their clients effectively.
- Contribute to the training and professional development of the team.
- Contribute to the firm’s reputation through conferences, training, and networking activities.
SKILLS AND QUALITIES SOUGHT
- Be a member in good standing of the Quebec Bar or the Chambre des Notaires du Québec and have at least 4 years of relevant experience in tax planning and reorganization in private practice.
- Demonstrate an interest in working in a multidisciplinary team.
- Have the ability to supervise junior staff and have developed autonomy in managing files and relationships with various clients.
- Have a client-oriented attitude and strong interpersonal communication skills.
