PROFILE

The successful candidate will stand out for their thoroughness and sense of organization and priorities, which will enable them to manage several files simultaneously. Independent and with a strong focus on customer service, they will enjoy working as part of a team to contribute significantly to the office’s success.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively coordinate the tracking of files, deadlines, and schedules
  • Transcribe documents
  • Conduct legal research in various computer databases (SOQUIJ, REQ, land registry, etc.)
  • Prepare and assist lawyers in drafting correspondence, procedural documents, agreements, and various legal documents
  • Participate in the opening, monitoring, updating, closing, and archiving of physical and electronic files
  • Prepare work tools requiring analysis
  • Review draft accounts and invoices, ensure compliance with guidelines and follow up on the billing process
  • Provide support to professionals in terms of deadline management, time tracking, and professional development
  • Provide support in terms of client development and the firm’s outreach, either in the preparation of internal/external training and participation in development initiatives
  • Provide immediate support to professionals in maintaining the prescription register and significant deadlines relating to the progress of proceedings, etc.
  • Go to court to file documents and proceedings, as well as to the post office to collect and send priority/registered mail

 

SKILLS AND QUALITIES SOUGHT

  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • College diploma in legal techniques or relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Experience in litigation
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Kofax or Acrobat
  • Ability to adapt and deliver quickly and accurately, in addition to managing multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and friendly approach
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Attention to detail and good team spirit
