Denis Cloutier

Denis Cloutier, partner and board member of Cain Lamarre, has been practising law for many years. He joined Cain Lamarre in 1999. As a litigation lawyer, he has pleaded numerous complex cases in a variety of fields, including civil liability, shareholder disputes and all sorts of disputes arising from every aspect of business. He specializes in extraordinary remedies such as injunctions, earning him the nickname of “Mr. Emergency” within the firm.

Mr. Cloutier has managed numerous complex commercial litigation and civil liability cases, developing a high level of expertise in oral arguments, evidence and the civil litigation process. He has also taught courses on evidence and civil procedure for the Barreau du Québec, and on trial advocacy and moot court at the Université de Montréal, thereby sharing his expertise with the next generation of lawyers.

Mr. Cloutier holds a Law degree from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Université Laval. He is a member of the board of directors of the Fondation de la Colonie Sainte-Jeanne d’Arc. Passionate about art history and cultural activities, he is also a Commandeur of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, an honorary title that reflects his interest in wine traditions and culture.
