Stéphanie Destrempes, a partner in our Montreal office, is renowned for her expertise in franchise law, commercial and transactional law, and bankruptcy and insolvency. She represents franchisors and distributors in a variety of sectors, including food service, retail, health and wellness, and the service industry. With her 360-degree vision and wide-ranging knowledge, she assists her customers in setting up their business models, developing infrastructure, expanding and growing their networks, drafting commercial agreements and making strategic decisions in the management of franchisor-franchisee relationships.
Prior to joining Cain Lamarre, Mrs. Destrempes acquired extensive experience with two other renowned law firms. She has had the opportunity to advise various clients on major transactions and restructurings. Her numerous publications and frequent participation in franchise conferences demonstrates her commitment to the industry and the importance of franchise education. She is heavily involved with the Conseil québécois de la franchise, firstly as a member of the board of directors and its various committees, but also as the driving force behind the Women in Franchising sub-committee. Mrs. Destrempes is recognized by her peers for her leadership, commitment and determination to see projects through to the end.
Mrs. Destrempes holds a Bachelor of Laws from Université de Montréal, and is a member of the boards of directors of Groupe AFFI and of Les Abeilles Service de Conditionnement inc. In addition to her legal practice, she enjoys a variety of sports, including downhill and cross-country skiing, golf, paddleboarding and figure skating, which she used to practise competitively. She also loves cooking, travelling and reading, and participates in various events to support causes related to mental health issues and heart disease.
