Karine Boies is a partner in charge of the Environmental Law Group, and also practises in the areas of municipal law and expropriation. She supports her clients by providing legal advice and representing them before judicial and administrative tribunals in these areas of practice. In recent years, she has developed a keen interest in the practice of Law in the context of the circular economy, notably through her participation in the Regulations Solutions team of the Lab Construction for the acceleration of the circular economy, which is run by the Centre for Intersectoral Studies and Research on the Circular Economy (CERIEC) at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS).

Over the course of her career, Ms. Boies has developed in-depth knowledge of provincial and federal environmental approval processes and providing legal support to industries and institutional organizations in the development of projects that are likely to have an impact on the environment, as well as social acceptability and the application process for municipal authorizations.

She also acts as a trainer and speaker for various associations and groups in the municipal and environmental sectors, such as the Fédération québécoise des municipalités, the Union des municipalités du Québec, the Réseau Environnement and the Conseil Patronal de l’Environnement du Québec. In addition, she sits on Cain Lamarre’s board of directors, as well as that of Réseau Environnement, which she chaired from 2017 to 2019.
