At Cain Lamarre, legal excellence goes hand in hand with a deeply human approach. With a strong national footprint supported by 15 offices and a team of over 550 professionals, we offer a working environment where expertise, collaboration and respect are at the heart of everyday practice.

Joining our firm means growing within a stimulating, structured and welcoming environment, where your contribution is valued and your professional development actively supported.

We are looking for an Employment and Labour Lawyer to join our team in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean offices.

THE PROFILE THAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Employment and labour law lies at the very core of human relations within organisations. It addresses concrete and sensitive issues such as day-to-day workforce management, conflict prevention and resolution, occupational health and safety, and the evolving legal obligations of employers. At Cain Lamarre, we support employers and senior management in risk prevention, negotiation, strategic decision-making and dispute resolution in employment and labour matters.

We are looking for a professional committed to building a sustainable career in employment and labour law, capable of combining legal rigour with a genuinely human approach. Whether you are at the beginning of your practice or bring prior experience, your judgement, pragmatism, ability to manage sensitive matters and team spirit will make a meaningful contribution to our group.

YOUR ROLE ON DAILY BASIS

  • Act as a legal and strategic advisor to employers on labour relations matters, including employment standards, internal policies and disciplinary management
  • Represent and plead cases in employment and labour law before administrative tribunals and courts of general jurisdiction
  • Build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with clients, particularly HR teams and executive management
  • Contribute to the prevention of disputes and to compliance with workplace obligations through legal opinions, investigations, training and managerial support
  • Draft and review employment-related agreements and documents, including employment contracts, termination agreements, restrictive covenants, policies and procedures
  • Evolve within a collaborative team, working on varied, practical matters closely connected to the realities of the workplace

WHAT WILL SET YOU APART

  • Membership in the Barreau du Québec
  • A strong team-oriented mindset, where collaboration, communication and mutual respect are essential
  • Strong client relationship skills and the ability to deliver advice that is clear, structured and tailored
  • A demonstrated sense of curiosity, rigour and attention to detail
  • Excellent command of French, both written and spoken
  • Proficiency in English is considered an asset

WORKING WITH US ALSO MEANS…

  • Taking care of your health through group insurance, telemedicine and an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Planning for the future with a group retirement savings plan
  • Maintaining a healthy work–life balance through an annual wellbeing programme and a hybrid working model
  • Evolving in a workplace that takes concrete action to support women’s wellbeing
  • Benefiting from on-site parking and a welcoming, professional and human working environment
  • Practising with peace of mind through coverage of professional dues and liability insurance
  • Being part of a firm where professionalism, respect, collaboration and wellbeing are genuinely valued

All applications will be treated confidentially. Only candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
